I've spent nearly a decade working with over 100 fashion brands across strategy, marketing, operations, and product. That work runs through Grapefox — a consultancy I founded that works exclusively with fashion companies — and Italian Artisan, where I'm a shareholder, one of Italy's leading Made-in-Italy manufacturing platforms.

Vilanera is what came out of years inside the industry. I kept noticing that premium accessories — bags especially — were either too quiet to be interesting, too loud to be liveable, or too technical to sit next to a well-cut coat. There was an opening for one that earned the second look without asking for the first. So we made one.

I write here about premium accessories, how things are made in Italy, and how the better independent brands in fashion build a market for themselves without shouting. The point isn't to convert anyone. It's to be useful to people who already care.
